National Integration Tour (NIT) interacs with GOC Delhi Area

Imphal, November 05 2012:
The 15 day National Integration Tour (NIT) that is being coordinated and conducted by the Red Shield Division, to give the youth from the remote Manipur districts, Tamenglong and Senapati, a glimpse into the rich heritage and culture of the country and an opportunity to meet and interact with eminent personalities of the country.
The focal point of the tour, apart from making the youth aware of the mainland, is also to help them to realise and take home positive developmental impressions from the mainland that could be implemented in their respective regions.
There are 25 youth participating in the tour.
The tour is scheduled to visit Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
The NIT tour is presently in Delhi.
The youth had the privilege to meet and interact with the President, Dr Pranab Mukherjee on 03 Nov 2012.The youth were encouraged by the President's message to them; of him asserting that Manipur is an important State of India that is excelling in all spheres and that the youth have a tremendous responsibility to further the progress of the State.
The youth met Lt Gen Subroto Mitra, SM, VSM, GOC Delhi Area on 05 Nov 12.The General in his interaction with the youth expressed that Manipur is a picturesque State, with abundant natural resources and talented people.
He conveyed to them that they must foster peace and tranquility in the region and must be a catalyst to the progress of the state.
The General furthered that the country has a lot of thriving career opportunities, which the youth of Manipur must make good of.
The General also encouraged the youth to partake with the mainland for career opportunities with the Armed Forces.
