MCTPA kickstarts 12 days residential camp

Imphal, September 05 2019:
Manipur Centre for Tribal Performing arts (MCTPA) Imphal kicked started a twelve-day residential camp for workshop cum production of Kabui/Rongmei Traditional Folk Song & Dance Competition at Lamyanba Shanglen, Konung Lampak today.
The residential camp was organised under the sponsorship of NEC Shillong.
Art & Culture Director A Shivadas Sharma graced the function as the chief guest while Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak Phom Assam, Manipur and Nagaland general secretary Chaoba Kamson as the president and Chief Minister political advisor Professor N Tiken as guest of honour.
Speaking at the function, A Shivadas stated that the initiative taken by Manipur Centre for Tribal Performing Arts, which is an organisation for Kabui community, to uplift and promote its rich traditions and culture is very laudable.
He assured that the Department of Art and Culture will extend all possible aid to any Kabui cultural events.
The present generation and the future generation should continue to promote the community's folk songs, dance and music,
he added.
