Dimapur, February 05 2018:
The Core Committee of the Nagaland Tribal Hohos and the Civil Organizations (CCNTHCO) has invited all the 11 political parties, both National and regional, which signed the "January 29 Declaration", for an emergency meeting at Hotel Japfu in Kohima on February 6 "without fail".
The leaders of all the "apex tribe hohos" and the mass based organisations, and the "negotiation groups" have also been also requested to attend the meeting.
On January 29, altogether 11 political parties, namely, UNDP, NPF, BJP (Nagaland unit), INC (Nagaland unit), NPP (Nagaland unit), Nagaland Congress, NDPP, NCP (Nagaland unit), Lok Jan Shakti Party (Nagaland unit), AAP (Nagaland unit), and Nagaland unit of JD(U), in the presence of the "apex Naga tribal hohos" and civil society organisations and the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), namely, the NSCN (IM) and the six NNPGs Working Committee, had made a joint declaration supporting the "Solution, Not Election" demand.
It can be noted here that prior to that declaration, the NSCN-IM and the six NNPGs in a joint meeting in Dimapur on January 28 resolved that no one should "indulge in election process" with regard to the Nagaland State Assembly election.
"When Naga people as a whole have made the collective decision to forgo election, we caution vested interest and unscrupulous persons not to sabotage the historical processes of negotiations by filing nominations and indulging in election process," the January 28 joint statement of the NSCN-IM and the six NNPGs said.
