Imphal, November 02 2014:
The SoO signatory United Revolutionary Front (URF) has cautioned the public against "fake" revolutionaries who are causing lots of disturbances in the society.
According to a statement signed by its Chairman Silheiba Meitei and Publicity Secretary Wayelba Meitei, the URF was formed by seven factions of different outfits with the main objective of reinforcing the freedom movement of Manipur.
However, it decided to lay down arms and join the mainstream to begin a new revolution based on work culture.
Much to the disappointment of the leaders of URF, some cadres of the outfit under the leadership of Lanheiba Meitei still continue to hold arms and extort money from the general public in collusion with the security forces.
Two cadres of the outfit were killed and buried inside Loitang Khunou Designated Camp some time back because the slain cadres did not obey the diktat of Lanheiba Meitei, who is wearing the mask of a revolutionary leader to extort money and terrorize the people, it said.
The URF also appealed to the general public to send emails at the address "[email protected]" if anybody is found using the name of URF while extorting money or causing trouble to the public.
