Imphal, January 19 2019:
Federation of Haomee has decried the status of ITI Senapati and alleged that it is a failed institute.
The federation in a statement today said that a team of its Fact Finding Committee inspected the ITI Senapati on December 11, 2018.During the inspection at the institute, the team witnessed empty and abandoned classrooms and worksheds, said the Federation of Haomee.
One workshop room was found to be used as a car garage, claimed the federation.
The Federation of Haomee claimed that according to a source, there are many teachers and staff who do not attend and take a single class in months.
The federation alleged that the 'Superintendent carries with him the attendance register'.
This it said is a clear indication that staff are not punctual as they should be.
Practical rooms and laboratories were found turned into storage rooms for woods and thatches/straws, it said.
The team found many equipment and tools lacking in the institute.
Despite the various schemes taken up by the Chief Minister to reach out to hill people, the way this institution is functioning is not helping the hill people especially the youth/students who are enrolled in the institute, said the federation.
Appealing the authorities concerned to look into the matter for proper functioning of the ITI Senapati, the Federation of Haomee continued that it will continue to inspect such institutions in the hill districts of the State.
