Foundation laid for Bishnupur bazar temporary shed

Bishnupur, July 16 2021:
Oinam MLA and MPCB and KVIB chairman L Radhakishor Khuman laid the foundation stone for construction of two temporary sheds of Bishnupur bazar on Friday.
Construction of the temporary shed has been necessitated as main market will be rebuilt commensurate with contemporary needs and fund for the same had already been sanctioned.
Manipur Police Housing Corporation will be the construction agency of the temporary markets.
Women vendors and shopkeepers who are currently plying their trade in the old market will be shifted to the temporary markets till completion of the new market.
One of the temporary markets will be constructed in front of UCO bank close to Bishnupur bazar at a cost of Rs 59,38,194 while the other structure near LIC office will be taken up at a cost of Rs 11,22,771.A toilet for both men and women will also be constructed just adjacent to the first temporary market.
After laying the foundation stone, MLA Radhakishor said that construction of the temporary market sheds and toilet would be completed and handed over to the women vendors within two months.
Construction of the main market will be taken up after completion of the temporary market complexes, he said while appealing to the people particularly women vendors and shop owners to extend cooperation for early completion.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was also attended by Manipur Police Housing Corporation Bishnupur district AE L Bishorjit and SO P Ramananda, bJp Bishnupur Mandal president N Raghumani, Bishnupur Municipal Council former chairperson L Maniyaima Singh, former councillors M Leima Devi, Th Mani Singh and Kh Memi Devi, BJP Manipur Pradesh state executive member Th Yaima and S Jiban Singh.
