CM launches 'MOMA market' for vegetable supply

Chief minister N Biren Singh launched MOMA Market mobile application for home delivery of fresh vegetables on Friday.
The application can be downloaded from www.momamarket.com and it will also be available on Google Play Store soon.
The app version for iOS will also be released shortly.
The application was introduced by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, under the supervision of CM Biren to make fresh vegetables available for day to day consumption and curb the distress sales of farm produces during lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
MOMA has been assigned to work in the area and channelize farm products to consumers via home delivery so that the vegetable losses can be prevented and curb spread of COVID-19.Vegetables will be collected from different farms by Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs) working with MOMA.
It will be then transported to cold storage and warehouse located at Sanjenthong and other places.
These bulk produces will be disbursed to registered marketing agencies for retail packaging.
Finally, the order placed by the consumer via MOMA Market will be delivered at the door steps.
On the other-hand, chief minister Biren informed that a total of 2,67,109 farmers of Manipur have benefitted benefits under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi till date.
Speaking on the sidelines of a function held Friday in connection with the release of over Rs 19,000 crore to over 9.5 crore farmer families through the DBT system, the CM thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing the amount at a time when people are facing lots of difficulty and hardship due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Biren attended the function via the virtual mode.
Stating that the total amount is the first instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for the financial year 2021-22, Biren informed that 2,67,109 farmers of Manipur had been benefitted out of the state's total allocation of Rs 53.42 crore.
