Bharat Nirman campaign concludes at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, September 13 2013 :
The three-day long Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign concluded on Friday along with a series of public interaction and entertainment sessions at the Town Baptist Church (TBC) Hall at Tamenglong district headquarter.
The campaign was organized by Press Information Bureau, Government of India, Imphal in association with its sister offices in the state and district administration of Tamenglong.
Chief Executive Officer(CEO) RK Ragaisin of Autonomous District Council(ADC),Tamenglong and District Immunization Officer/Family Welfare and Member Secretary District Health Mission Society Dr Namjupou Panmei of Tamenglong were respectively chief guest and functional president of the valedictory function which was also attended by Pastor Rev Namsadai of TBC, Tamenglong as guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Ragaisin described the campaign as a very important medium to share information on various development schemes and hoped that the organizing team will conduct such public information campaign in next year as well.
During last two days, many resource persons might have informed the people about the development schemes which are being taken up in the district.
Encouraging the students, he also asked interesting questions and gave away cash incentives to them.
Ragaisin observed that that we can now get whatever information we want through the Right to Information Act.
Dr Namjupou Panmei and Pastor Rev Namsadai also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Media and Communication Officer Premlata Loitam of PIB, Imphal gave the opening remarks of the function.
She also delivered the vote of thanks.
Later, the dignitaries distributed prizes and gift hampers to those who opened stalls at the campaign complex.
There were around 17 government department and agency stalls displaying their development activities in the district during the campaign.
Students of Don Bosco School, Tamenglong also staged a public awareness rally on the concluding session of the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign while artistes of Song and drama division, Imphal performed theme plays.
It may be noted that a total of 266 patients including 142 females and 77 children attended the free health camp conducted as part of the campaign.
Besides, 21 other patients attended the investigation procedures.
Among the resource persons who made their presentation on the last day of the campaign, Champoudai Dangmei, Midday Meal (MDM) in charge of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Tamenglong informed that altogether 93,062 students have been benefited under Midday Meal scheme in Tamenglong in the year 2012-13 .
Sobhapati Samom, Senior journalist, said that the district administration Tamenglong plans to cover 21,281 beneficiaries out of state's targeted beneficiaries (23,78,000) once the National Food Security Bill (NFSB) is implemented in the State.
KC Paul, District Coordinator (Planning) of SSA, Tamenglong, informed that a total of 340 government and government aided schools have been covered under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan(SSA) scheme in Tamenglong district and so far 22,105 students have either directly or indirectly benefitted through the scheme.
