Active caseload reaches all time high at 4604
State reports 13 fatalities, 424 new cases in 24 hours; 16.87 pc single day positivity rate

With the addition of 424 new cases and 13 deaths in the last 24 hours, the state recorded the highest ever active caseload of 4604 on Monday.
During the peak of the pandemic in the first wave, the highest active caseload was recorded on October 29 at 4308.Out of the present active cases, 2748 patients are in home isolation while the remaining 1560 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
So far, 7590 cases have been reported since the beginning of the current year and out of these, 6292 cases were added in the last seven days alone.
In term of fatalities, 134 death cases have been reported since the beginning of the current year and 67 of them were added in the last seven days alone.
Men seem to be more vulnerable to severe complications from Covid as compared to women.
Out of the 489 total death cases recorded in the official tally, 344 (70 per cent) are males and 145 (30 per cent) females.
According to official report, the 424 new cases include 414 civilians (212 male & 202 female) and 10 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at JNIMS (68), RIMS (39), Imphal East (13), Imphal West (7), Maipakpi (6), Mother's Care (3), CMC (6), Hillside (3), Little Clinic (1), Swiss Clinic (1), Ema Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (52), Peace Hospital (2), Iboyaima Hospital (3), Shija Hospitals (19), Babina Diagnostics (114), Escent Diagnostics (34), Bishnupur (15), Churachandpur (16), Chandel (3), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (2), Jiribam (11), Kangpokpi (3) and Noney (1).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (157), Imphal West (175), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (30), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (1), Chura-chandpur (18), Chandel (3), Sen-apati (1), Tamenglong (2), Jiribam (11), Kangpokpi (3), Tengnoupal (1) and Noney (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 13 fatalities reported on Monday included a 42-year-old female from Imphal East; a 46-year-old male from Chan-del; a 92-year-old female & a 73-year-old male from Thoubal; a 39-year-old male from Bishnu-pur; a 33-year-old female from Kakching; a 43-year-old male, a 48-year-old male, a 60-year-old female, a 65-year-old male, a 66-year-old male, a 72-year-old female & a 62-year-old male from Imphal West district.
Seven of them died at RIMS, two at Shi-ja Hospitals and one each at Raj Medicity, DH Chandel, DH Thoubal and JNIMS hospital.
The cumulative number of deaths is 489.In the last 24 hours, 87 patients were discharged from CAPF (3), home isolation (41), RIMS (8), RD Wing (2), LANVA (10), BB (1), DH Churachandpur (1), CCC Kakching (1), Jiribam (1), CCC Bishnupur (7) and Ukhrul (12).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 35,778 (general population - 32,110 and CAPF personnel - 3,668) .
Number of recovered cases is 30,685 (general population - 27,204 and CAPF personnel - 3,481) and number of active cases is 4604 (general population - 4422 and CAPF personnel - 182) .
The recovery rate is 85.76 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1020 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 524 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities in the state.
District Hospitals have 128 D and 85 B type filled cylinders.
Numbers of oxygen cylinders in different district hospitals are Bishnupur (13D, 8B), Chandel (18D, 6B), Churachandpur (24D, 10B), Senapati (6D,7B), Thoubal (23D, 11B), Ukhrul (9D,16B), Tamenglong (15D,21B), and Jiribam (20D,6B).So far, 2,66,081 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to the report of Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, 20 new cases have been detected during tests conducted in Kakching district on Monday.
Of them, 11 were detected at government testing centre and they are from Kakching Sumak Leikai (4), Kakching Paji Leikai (1), Kakching Mayai Leikai (1), Kakching Wairi (1), Langmeidong Maning Makha Leikai (2), and Hiyanglam Warakk-hong (2) .
Nine cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and they are from Kakching Wairi Sabal Leikai (2), Kakching Mayai Leikai (2), Wabagai Maibam Leikai (1), Wabagai Kada-jit (1), Yangdong (1) and Tekcham Bazar of Thoubal district (2) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 11,530 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 17,232 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 206,180 tests per million population against the national average of 218,279 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.37 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2513 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 16.87 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 5.59 per cent.
