People don't trust BJP: Ibobi

On the penultimate day for submission of nomination papers for the second phase of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, former chief minister O Ibobi Singh filed his nomination paper as INC candidate from Thoubal assembly constituency in Thoubal district on Thursday.
After submitting his nomination paper to RO Thoubal, Ibobi told media persons that he emerged victorious from Thoubal AC for two consecutive terms and served people of the constituency and accordingly submitted nomination paper as INC candidate for the third term to continue serving people of the constituency.
While expressing hope that people of Thoubal AC would elect him for another term, Ibobi said that he has been working at his level best to develop the constituency and would continue to do so in future.
People of Manipur have no trust in the present BJP government and movement for change and a new government has started.
In view of this, there is high hope that a new chapter will begin in the state and Congress party would form government after the election, he added.
Till the penultimate day of submission of nomination pa pers for second phase polls, altogether 87 candidates from 22 assembly constituencies have submitted their nomination papers with 37 of them submitting their nomination papers on Thursday alone through respective ROs.
In all, 35 candidates submitted their nomination papers on February 9, six on February 8 and nine on February 7 .
