Imphal, July 09 2013:
Locals of Bashikhong staged a sit-in-protest against the abduction of a 13-year-old boy at Bashikhong Meira Club here today.
The abducted boy has been identified as Mutum Nongpoknganba alias Naoba, s/o Imotomba of Bashikhong Kitna Panung, Imphal East.
He is a Class-VII student of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur.
Naoba went missing after he went out of home for a morning walk on July 4.The family members had even lodged a missing report to the police.
Meanwhile, a lady trader claimed to have seen the missing boy at Moreh.
She told media persons that she was in the same passenger van in which the boy and two other persons were travelling to Moreh on June 4 .
A middle-aged lady first boarded the van from Moirangkhom Parking and the boy with another man then boarded the vehicle from near Thoubal Bridge.
The boy remained silent all throughout the journey and she suspected some foul play.
However, she did not enquire anything to them, the trader said.
She realized that the boy with whom she was travelling up to Moreh was indeed the missing boy only after seeing his photograph on newspapers at Khwairamband Keithel.
The locals of Bashikhong have appealed to the organization concerned to release the boy safely as soon as possible.
