Imphal, July 06 2021:
While informing that the vaccination rate in the state is quite high with over 7 lakh people already inoculated against Covid-19, Chief Minister N Biren has assured that the state has no shortage of medicines either.
Speaking to newspersons on the sidelines of a visit to a vaccination centre in Lamlongei, Mantripukhri on Tuesday, the CM informed that the vaccination rate in the state has surpassed over 7 lakh i.e., around 35 per cent of the population have been vaccinated.
The vaccination process has not slowed down, he added.
Refusing to name political parties and politicians who are trying to slow down the process, Biren said that around 20,000 people are vaccinated daily.
In addition, the state has received a consignment of 75 medicines.
As human lives are more precious, he appealed to the Congress MLAs to organise mass vaccination programmes and refrain from politicising the same.
The CM went on to say that misinformation about the vaccine has gradually stopped.
Also, there is no shortage of oxygen, ventilators and hospital beds.
"If the present vaccination rate of 20,000 vaccinations a day is to be increased to 35000, the entire population of the state could be vaccinated within a month or half.
Thus, he appealed to all to get vaccinated, while questioning the Congress on its protest against the Koubru tree felling issue.
