611 freight trucks reach Imphal

Imphal, October 05 2011:
At least 611 freight trucks including four bullet tankers, one each of petrol and diesel tanker, one passenger bus and two Tata Sumos have reached Imphal today safely under tight security escort.
Meanwhile, the loaded truck which was burnt by suspected UNC blockade supporters at Awang Khun area under Nungba Police Station is found to be owned by one Samsu-Uddin Laskar from Silchar, Sundarban Water House Road.
One Jallaluddin Laskar was driving the truck with onions and varieties of beans.
A team of TDC led by its president H Ranjit along with crane and JCB dozers is now camping at Seijang village area to ensure safe passage for trucks from natural calamities and man-made blocks and also to help troubled trucks along the highway.
In the meantime, around 180 vehicles including trucks, Tata DIs, passenger buses and Tata Sumos have reached Moreh safely under tight security measures.
They will leave for Imphal from Moreh tomorrow morning.
