Jiribam, September 02 2014:
Demanding improvement of the road from Kashimpur to Leisabithol in Jiribam sub-division, villagers and students of Kashimpur, Mulargaon, Ahmedabad and Leisabithol in the sub-division have threatened to call indefinite bandh along Kashimpur-Leisabithol road from mid night of September 5 if the demand is not fulfil.
The road from Kashimpur to Leisabithol is the only means of communication for the villagers of this vast area, however the condition of the road is so pathetic even the school going students have to undergo a lot of troubles and very often they could not reach school in time.

On the other hand, some portion of the road has been eroded by the flowing water of Ahmedabad canal at Ahmedabad village.
Meanwhile, it was also learnt from the villagers that the said eroded portion of the road was renovated by making retaining wall with bamboo poles and fencing in a very insufficient condition, whereas after two or three years the same portion of the road eroded more critically than earlier.
Due to all these problems of communications, the village authorities and the students of the four villages approached the authority concerned several times, but all in vain.
Thereafter, on August 26, the students and the club authorities of the villages of Kashimpur, Leisabithol, Mulargaon and Ahmedabad approached the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jiribam for redressing their grievances, but till date there has been no step ha been taken from the ADC, Jiribam side for repairing of the road.
Accordingly, the village authorities as well as the club members and students of the four villagers have announced launching of an agitation from the midnight of the September 5 by calling an indefinite bandh on Kashimpur to Leisabithol road.
