Kakching SDO flags off rally

Kakching, June 30 2017:
SDO Kakching Anjali Chongtham gave a ceremonious flag off to a state-wide rally to spread messages calling for an end to abuse of woman and children and promotion of peaceful co-existence from her office complex today.
The rally is being organised by Elangbam Tondonbi Singh Memorial Charitable Trust, Hiyanglam Awang Leikai and Okho (Okeshwor Honeshwor) Trust, Langmeidong.
Executive director of Okho Trust and Star India Awardee Ngouba Thouna and secretary of ETSMCT W Amusana Devi, who will be leading the rally, attended the flag off ceremony among others.
Anjali said the undertaking being carried out up by the two trusts is a timely one as crimes against woman and child is on a gradual rise at the moment.
With the aim of providing immediate assistance to victims of such crimes, the state government had opened a 24-hour helpline number '181' through which the victim can approached service providers for help, she stated and reminded the participants to spread awareness of this helpline numbers to every possible person during the rally.
Ngouba Thouna said the idea of holding the rally was conceived with the objective of providing maximum support in stopping this particular type of crime.
He informed that on the first day today the rally will cover Kakching, Bishnupur and other locations in Imphal West and Imphal East districts and later its coverage will expand to every part of the state.
