ATUM expresses gratitude

Aimol Tribe Union Manipur (ATUM) has expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles and State Government for providing security to the villagers in the aftermath of Ngairong incident.
ATUM Secretary Ruitorlal Chongom in a statement conveyed heartfelt gratitude to 20 Assam Rifles under HQ 26 Sector AR and the State Government for providing security to the villagers in the aftermath of the Ngairong incident in which one Walunglua Aimol was shot dead by suspected NSCN (IM) militants.
On August 22, after the militants shot dead the villager, the personnel of 20 Assam Rifles and State Police Force reacted quickly and reached the spot for providing security cover for the villagers of Ngairong and its surrounding areas, said the General Secretary.
Ruitorlal further maintained that the presence of security forces from Assam Rifles, Police, IRB and Manipur Rifles gives a sense of security to the villagers particularly women and children of Aimol Khullen, Ngairong, Chandonpokpi, Khodamphai and Aimol Tampak village.
He said the Aimol Tribe also appeals to the State Government and the Assam Rifles to continue extending assistance in case of any eventualities in future.
