Bank strike

Imphal, May 29 2018:
Following the call of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), all the public sector banks in the country will undergo a two day nationwide bank strike on May 30 and 31.A press release issued by convenor of United Forum of Bank Unions stated that the UFBU Manipur State Committee will also take part in the strike including all the banks operating in the, State.
It stated that a sit in protest was held from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm at Ima Panthoibi Shanglen, Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai, Imphal.
The employees/officers will assemble at SBI Imphal branch, MG Avenue on the first day and a rally will be taken out at around 10.30 am from MG Avenue till Thangmeiband via Khoyathong road.
While, another sit in protest will be held on the second day from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm, the statement maintained.
It stated that the strike was called opposing IBA's delay in resolving Charter of demands, Govt's casual approach to wage revision for bank employees/officer, IBA's meagre offer of 2 percent hike in wage bill towards the wage bill and partial mandate given by some of the banks only upto scale III officers.
The bank unions are demanding expeditious and early wage revision settlement, adequate increase in salary and improvement in other service conditions and wage revision settlement to include all officers up to scale VII .
