Six witnesses examined in triple murder case

Imphal, March 27 2011:
Examination of witnesses of the triple murder case (Dr Kishan, the then SDO Kasom Khullen and his subordinate staff, Token and Rajen by NSCN (IM) cadres was conducted in the court of OP Saini, Special Judge, CBI, Tis Hazari, New Delhi from March 21 to 25, a statement of the JAC formed in connection with the killing said today.
Advocate ND Pancholi appeared for the accused Hopeson Ningshen of NSCN (IM) while advocate AK Singh, senior PP represented the CBI during the examination of the witnesses, M Nicky Singh was presented as family member of the Late Dr Th Kishan.
Six witnesses were examined during the day, the statement said.
K Pukeho, SDPO, Senapati was the first person to be examined and followed by examination to U Shamu Singh inspector of Senapati PS.
Dr Kh Pradip Kumar Singh of Forensic Department of RIMS, Kanchanthai Faiga Gangmei MCS, SDC, Rave Raleng UDA, Manipur Secretariat and wife of 'Colonel' Levi Zimik of NSCN(IM), Ningohen Khurye Wungsheng, elder brother of accused Hopeson Ningshen, who is working as senior bill clerk in the office of Addl CE (Power-II) were also examined.
During the examination of Inspector Shamu, the Judge pointed out absence of certain documents which were needed to be produced in the trial court.
On the specific submission of M Nicky, who is practicing lawyer, the Judge agreed to the contention that the victim family engage a suitable advocate in the matter of legal representation.
This will help in the smooth conduct of the trial, the JAC suggested.
The next hearing of the case will be held from April 28 to May 4, 2011 .
