Imphal, July 26 2013 :
With the State Government completely neglecting maintenance of more than 400 buildings, which were constructed at Langol Game Village for providing lodging facilities to sportspersons from different districts of the State, for the last 13 years, the condition of these buildings (quarters) has remained in pathetic condition for quite long.
When Hueiyen Lanpao went to take a firsthand report on the present condition of these various blocks of buildings, it was found that the condition has indeed deteriorated.
The tin sheets covering the roofs of the buildings have been spoiled due to passage of time and the occupants of these buildings suffer the most during rainy seasons where rain drops leaked through the walls and the damaged tin sheets.

The toilets of the quarters are also in their worst conditions since they have not been maintained for the last 13 years and more, and the Government has been giving a deaf ear to the complaints of the occupants all these years.
It is worth mentioning that the State Government has been receiving incomes from these quarters in the form of rental paid at the rate of Rs 2000 per month by the occupants who are normally government employees hailing from different parts of the State.
Yet, the concerned authority is never in the mood to maintain the buildings for reasons best known to them.
Adding to this agony is the bad condition of the road leading to these quarters which is becoming worst day by day due to lack of regular maintenance.
