Cultural policy needed to preserve dying art & culture: Sobita

Expressing serious concern over dying art and culture of Manipur, Director of Art and Culture Dr K Sobita has said that a cultural policy can only resurrect the age-old art and culture which has now become a neglected subject among the present generation.
Dr Sobita was speaking as Chief Guest of the 14th Foundation Day celebration of All Manipur Art and Culture Students' Union (AMACSU) at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipuri Dance Academy here today.
She further said that a person is known by his cultural identity and so it is very much important to preserve and promote the art and culture.
Secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademi S Chiteshwar exhorted that the present generation should strive to preserve the art and culture of the State which has been in existence since time immemorial.
The foundation day celebration was also attended by Pradhan Guru of JN Manipuri Dance Academy A Tombi and President of AMACSU A Modhusudhon.
