144 CrPc order revoked in Ukhrul district

Ukhrul, April 26 2019:
144 CrPc Prohibitory order clamped in Ukhrul district in view of the 17th Lok-Sabha election 2019 restricting assembly of 5 or more persons in the district for ensuring peaceful polling, has been revoked and withdrawn in Ukhrul District.
As per a separate order issued by District Magistrate Dr Harmit Singh Pahuja, sealing of borders area, preventing movements of persons within 500 metres along the Myanmar border within Ukhrul district have been withdrawn.
However, normal check and frisking along the border will remain as usual in the region, added the order.
The same order also disposed off the representation submitted to the District Magistrate by R Daniel, Advocate High Court, R Solemwon and S Themichon regarding promulgation of prohibitory orders in the Ukhrul district.
