Imphal, July 24 2013:
The mortal remains of Lt..BHing Peter, the founding President of Maram Students' Union (MKS), who breathed his last on 22nd July at Raj Polyclinic, Imphal, was laid to rest in his native village, Willong with full honour of rituals and ceremony today.
Personals of 5 AR led the honour of displaying respect to the departed soul through blowing of trumpets and showcasing skillful drumbeats.
Educational institutions, public and market places in Maram areas also closed down to pay homage to the
departed soul.
Opening the solemn function, John Hingba invoked Gods blessing.
Following a tribute song by St.
Vincent's School, MKS President Mr.Pungdi Celestine delivered the welcome note.

While acknowledging the warm reception accorded to the death body on its enroute from Imphal to Willong at various places along NH/2 - Tumuyon Khullen, Dist.
H/Q Senapati, Maram Lairou and Maram Centre, the President stated that the funeral service of the Maram legendary leader was the blessing occasion for the young students who took part.
His death has marked the end of an era.
.BHing Peter who had founded MKS in 1961 had graced its Golden Jubilee in 2011 at District.
H/Q, Senapati.
After laying of wreaths, condolence messages by various organizations were delivered.
Adavi David, Speaker ATSUM considered the leader as the star of MKS and urged students to live up to the sacrifices of the past leader.
Jonah K.Mao, ANSAM General Secretary deeply shared the pain and the void left at the lost of the leader.
Minister Ngajokpa Francis, Kuki Students' Organization (SH), SDSA, Maram Union, Maram Women Union, Col.Vikram Dubey Commdt 5AR, Friends, Well-wishers and various imminent personalities also expressed profound sadness and richly paid homage to the MKS founder.
On the occasion, a special number was presented by Don Bosco College, Maram (Lungpikalai).
Lawrence, son of late leader, proposed vote of thanks and presented honorary gifts.
Funeral ceremony was administered by parish priest, Willong.
The entire programme was chaired by Karaiba Francis, former MKS President.
