Public alerted to check packaged water before use

Alerting the people to check before they consume packaged drinking water, T.Brojendro Khaba, the deputy commissioner of Food Safety, government of Manipur said that drinking impure water could lead to many water borne diseases which can be harmful.
Khaba told media persons at a meeting at Lamyanba Shanglen here that packaged drinking water "Royal Derby Aqua" manufactured by Gobind Evelabe Private Limited, NH 54 Nutan Bazar of Silchar, Assam was found unfit for drinking by L.Sanjit and L.Romen at Jiribam Bazar when they discovered suspended particles floating in the water.
The water bottle was manufactured on September 29, 2013 which expires after six months.
The company which manufactures the water bottle holds Indian Standard Institute (ISI) mark but it has been found unable to maintain its quality, the release said.
