Senapati, April 21 2013:
Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has condemned the attack on Naga Student's Federation (NSF) leaders on 17th April 2013 by some unknown Muslims at Sora under Thoubal district Manipur and demanded that the attackers be booked at the earliest possible.
In a statement, the student body asserted that such provoked attack on Naga student leaders could trigger communal tension among the different communities.
It is an unacceptable and premeditated action to target Naga student leaders and that the State Government should put in all efforts to book and punish the culprits at the earliest.
NFS leaders including R.S Jollyson, Speaker and Krelo Mao, Secretary Social & Culture were reportedly attacked while they were heading towards Chandel to dispatch invitations to the federating units for the forthcoming NSF 25th General Conference programme to be held at Dimapur from April 24 to 27 .
In another statement, SDSA has taken serious note over the alleged silence of the State Government over the issue of kidnapping of a young student, Alice Kamei by RPF/PLA militant group.
Demanding immediate intervention of the State government for ensuring safe release of Alice, SDSA has also extended the democratic agitations being launched by the Zeliangrong student community to press for safe release of Alice Kamei.
