Otlet Kipgen Memorial Ground unveiled

A newly developed ground, Otlet Kipgen Pangjang Ningthou Memorial Ground, which was developed in memory of Otlet Kipgen, the late king of Pangjang village under Saikul A/C was inaugurated today by MLA Yamthong Haokip.
Unveiling the memorial stone of the ground, MLA Yamthong Haokip, who graced the function as Chief Guest, said that people of Pangjang village now have their long cherished dream of a playground fulfilled.
The ground can host many major sporting events including football matches and championships.
Mention may be made that the ground was constructed by the villagers by contributing money and with the help of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme (MGNREGS).

Speaking further, Yamthong stressed the need to unite the elders and the youths in order to bring development and appealed to the villagers to extend their cooperation in future for all round development of the area.
He noted that Saikul is still lagging behind in the developmental race while comparing with other places of the state.
The Assembly constituency does not have proper road connectivity and healthcare facilities.
The MLA assured the gathering that he would do everything possible to ensure development of Saikul A/C. SDO Saikul DK Thangboi Haokip presided over the function while President of Kuki Inpi Saikhul Thangkam and Pastor Paosei Kipgen attended as Guests of Honour.
Cultural dances and folk songs were performed to make the event more immemorable.
