Chandel CSOs show the way

With implementation of various State and centrally sponsored schemes remaining only in name sake, people in Chandel district have been facing untold miseries in various fronts including road and communication, education, banking, medical, etc, according to leaders of Maha Area Chiefs' Association (MACA), Anal Naga Taangpi (ANT) and Anal Lenruwl Taangpi (ALT).
Addressing a press conference here today, Chairman of MACA Sng Lumdil, President of ANTA Wng Kohring Victor and President of ALT Ps Monihring pointed out that the distance from Pallel to Chandel is only 16 kms but the road condition is very bad.
BRTF personnel who are engaged for the improvement of the road had done only mud filling in the last two years.
If black-topping of the road is not begin within December 10, ANTA and other frontal organizations may be constraint to launch various intense agitation against the authority concerned.
Moreover, the road connecting Monsang Pantha with Thangbung via Thangkin, Khungjol, Vomku, Dalchol, Ralruwng, Libung, Duthang, which is a distance of around 35 kms and consider to be a short cut to Moreh from Chandel-Sugnu road (Chakpikarong) has been lying neglected for the last many years by the government despite submission of a number of petitions for improving the condition of the road, they lamented.
They informed that in the absence of any good road in these area, ANTA in collaboration with DRDA Chandel, DLOs and public leaders took has been taking up the onus of improving the road condition along with launching a month-long social work since November 13 .
In this regard, the leaders of MACA, ANTA and ALT have also sought the co-operation of circle MLA, DC, SP, SDO, CO of 8th MR, CO of 42 Assam Rifles, social workers and other departmental officials towards ensuring success of the social work.
The leaders also highlighted the discrepancies in the implementation of various State and centrally sponsored schemes in Chandel district.
