People are attracted by the A-grade quality rice provided by the Centre specially for the Ningol Chakkouba festival.
The Government of India has provided 10,000 quintals of A-grade rice to the state.
People are buying the rice from the NGOs, clubs and social organisations who procured the same from the state directorate of consumers' affairs, food and public distribution.
According to the NGOs, clubs and social organizations, they procured the rice from the directorate after submitting applications.
They procured the rice at the rate Rs 1463 per quintal.
The supply of A-grade rice to the people is not related with rice supply under APL, BPL and AAY schemes in any way.
Any individuals can buy the rice from the authority concern.
