27 AR organises 'Border villages meet' at Khamasom Walely village

A one day 'Border villages meet' was organised by the 27 AR, Ukhrul today by conducting cultural and sports events at Khamasom Walely village, Ukhrul.
Addressing the programme, Colonel Rippon Bora, Commandant 27 AR, Ukhrul stated that Assam Rifles in its continuous effort to protect the people under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme is reaching out to the remote villages of the area and is providing basic amenities for the welfare of the people.
He mentioned that working in defence service is a noble job and provides immense opportunities.
He continued that 27AR is planning to organise a special coaching camp for aspiring students who wish to study in Sainik school.
The village youth were also informed regarding the planned pre recruitment training camp for the aspiring youth in the third week of April.
As a part of the programme, Commandant Rippon Bora distributed sports equipment and teaching aids to Sihai cluster of villages (Sihai khullen, Sihai Khunou, Sihai Kahaophung, Khamasom Khayangkho, Khamasom walely, Khamasom Phungrei and Khamasom Phungthar) .
The headman of Khamasom Walely village expressed gratitude on behalf of the villages and appealed to organize more events to strengthen the relationship between the villagers and the Assam Rifles.
More than 1500 persons from six villages, 27AR officers, headmen, chairmen, secretaries, village leaders, school Principals, women society leaders and students participated in the programme held at Khamasom Walely public ground.
Later, a medical camp was also conducted during the villages meet, where medicines were distributed free of cost to the villagers.
