As commented by a parent through the social media, tourism festival and examinations being regular features, both have to be adjusted not to coincide each other.
Postponement of proponing the examinations by some days will give some relief to the students, he opined.
A noted newspaper columnist said 'for tourism promotion, people of this land must feel accommodated, especially the youths, whose mind must be drawn towards nourishing the beauty of our land'.
'If most of them could not make it to this festival, then I would say it's an unfortunate drawback related to the big event', she asserted.
Sharing his ideas, a young journalist commented, 'just to free their minds from the tensions of examination, students and their parents can at least enjoy a day in this 10-day-long festival, suitably on Saturday evening, without changing the examination schedules' .
Students of high schools whose final examinations are being conducted in the last week of November this year have also expressed their desire to witness the Sangai Festival, in spite of their scheduled examinations.
However, needs for study will compel them to miss the festival.
Guardians and students of various schools have appealed to the state Education Minister as well as the school authorities to defer the school examinations so as not to coincide with the Sangai Festival not only for this year, but also for the years to come.
