Protest staged against Premila murder

Kakching, April 12 2012:
A large number of women and students today staged a sit-in-protest at Wabagai Lamkhai Keithel against the killing of Keisham Premila (40) daughter of K Irabot of Wabagai Thingel Leikai on the night of March 25 and demanded to arrest the culprits behind the murder and award capital punishment.
Besides local women and students of the area, members of various civil society organisations of the state also participated in the protest which was organised by JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Kumari
Keisham Premila.
Additional SP (L&O)Thoubal who came to meet the protesters also assured that the culprits would be arrested at the earliest possible and sought full cooperation from the public in this regard.
According to a highly reliable source, the Police have established the identity of the lover of Premila who had called her out over the phone on the fateful day.
However, there is no report of arresting the accused by the police so far.
Premila was called out by her lover, who identified himself as Kshetrimayum Khelendro of Kakching Ningthou Leikai on the night of March 25.Since then Premila was reported missing.
Family members of Premila confirmed the dead body which was found burnt at Kakching Mahadeva hillock from the remnants of her clothing and rings on April 9 .
