Make sufficient subsidised fertilizers available within 7 days: Bharatiya Kisan Sangh

Concerned with the shortage of fertilizers, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Manipur Prant has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister yesterday demanding sufficient fertilizers for the farmers of the State and warned that it will launch agitations if sufficient subsidised fertilizers are not made available within 7 days.
Speaking at the Manipur Press Club today, general secretary of the Kisan Sangh Telem Dara said that despite the Government's policy to double the farmer�s income by 2022, the farmers of the State are still "deprived" of the most basic needs in agriculture.
The Kisan Sangh in its memorandum submitted to the CM claimed that the farmers are deprived of facility of subsidised fertilizers, at Rs 420 (45 kg) from authorised dealers.
The same fertilizers are available in open market at Rs 700 per bag (45 kg), asserted the Kisan Sangh.
The Kisan Sangh in its memorandum appealed the Government to make available sufficient subsidised fertilizers at the Government rate Rs 266.80 per bag (45 kg) within 7 days.
Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Manipur Prant will launch agitation if the Government fail to arrange sufficient subsidised fertilizers for the farmers within the given time, cautioned the memorandum.
The Kisan Sangh also appealed the State Government to formulate proper Agricultural policy, Land use, water and credit policy to 'increase farmers income' .
