Imphal, August 10 2011:
The failure on the part of the state government to safeguard even a short stretch of NH 39 is a clear cut example that there is no government at all in the state.
This was expressed at a press conference held at the office of MPP by Dr.Nimaichand Luwang.
He further expressed amazement at the state governments inability to safeguard a short stretch of about 10 to 20 kms from Kangpokpi to Kanglatongbi on NH 39 and about 10 kms from Kotland to Keithelmanbi which have been block by blockade supporters demanding for the full fledged district of Sadar hills.
He further went on to say that due to the ongoing indefinite general strike imposed by the Sadar Hills District hood Demand Committee all essential commodities have rise sky high.
Businessmen taking advantage of the ongoing situation have been hoarding goods which ultimately affect the common people.
All responsibility should be solely held by the state government.
The state should take up all necessary steps so that the common people are not affected by the ongoing blockade and indefinite general strike until a solution is brought between the government and the SHDDC.
