Health Minister calls on people to work together for a brighter future

Showing serious concerns on the need to maintain good health for all children of the nation, Health and Family Welfare Minister L.Jayantakumar today called on people to work together to the various project being taken up by the government.
Speaking during the launching programme of the National Deworming Day which is set to begin from tomorrow and the Mop-Up- Day which will begin from August 17 at Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School today, the Health and Family Welfare Minister said that keeping our children free from illness and make them healthy is a much essential duty of a nation and for that the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur and State Health Society, Manipur is taking the Deworming programme for children between 1 years to 19 years with extra seriousness.
"Good health is necessary for all children while concentrating on their studies, and without proper health condition it is not possible that we make them success in their studies", L.Jayantakumar said while adding that the future of the state lies to the student of today.
The Health Minister further said that today's student will become someday a bureaucrat of tomorrows and our pride during those periods will be in recalling that we had taken our role in making them a successful person.
As the state health department is facing problem for lack of manpower the Ministers call on all related department like the Social Welfare Department, Education Department, etc.
to come forward and work together to make the mission a success.
Deworming programme is an initiative taken up to make all children free from worm infestation.
This time the Directorate of Health Services Manipur is targeting to give deworming tablet to 10 lakh children in the state age between 1 to 19 years, said Director of Health Services Manipur, Dr..KLokendro Singh who also attended the launching function as guess of honour.
He however cautioned those on the service of the mission to take extra care for children who were under medication.
He also said that if any side effect occurred like vomiting, headache and stomach pain etc.
within 24 hour the child should consult to the health care service providers.
.LLoken said that the deworming programme will begin from tomorrow all over the state and it is likely that they can reach 90% of the children.
Those left out will be again cover up during Mob-Up-Programme which will begin from August 17.Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Family Welfare, Soibam Subashcandra who presided over the lunching function appealed the authority of the Social Welfare department to make the programme successful.
Those running the Agnwadi Center, Creech Center are important component to make the programme successful.
Besides, the School Education department should also provide all necessary assistance to make the children from worm infection.
The programme was also attended by Dr..KRajo Singh, Director Health and family Welfare , Manipur Dr..HRanjit, Additional health Director and RK Tenedy, Additional Director, Education (S), Government of Manipur as dignitaries.
