4th phase of 'Mission Indradhanush' launched

Family Welfare Department launched its 4th phase of 'Mission Indradhanush' at its conference hall today.
Speaking at the event, Family Welfare Director Dr K Rajo Singh said, "Infants and mothers who have not been vaccinated or have received incomplete dose can be protected from diseases like Diptheria, Tubercolosis, Measles, Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis etc by receiving proper vaccine at the right time.
Immunisation will result in a long and disease free life." The 4th phase of Mission Indradhanush will be carried out in four hill districts of the State namely Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Ukhrul and Chandel.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase of the Mission had received tremendous success in the past.
The 4th phase aims to provide immunization to 2463 infants and 1133 pregnant women who had not received vaccination during the aforementioned phases.
He appealed the people to come for their vaccinations at the nearest CHC, subcentres, PHC or district hospitals.
Additional Director F/W Dr Md Salamat Ullah said that the public need to cooperate for the 4th phase to succeed.
"Its main aim is to make all the infants and babies healthy as these vaccines will protect them from various diseases", he said.
Sharad Yadav (SPO, UNDP) pointed out that it is the right of every infant to have access to the vaccine.
