Free animal health camp conducted

Imphal, December 06 2017:
The Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal organised a one day health cam cum training programme on ‘Scientific care and management of Ponies’ at Chingkheihunba Polo Club, Imphal East today .
The programme was organised by Professor M Dhaneswar Singh, Pradhan M Dinachandra Singh, Head, Department of Animal Sciences, Dr Th Ranadhir and ward member Kanta Singh as dignitaries .
As a part of the camp, around 40 ponies were dewormed while mineral vitamin mixture and antiseptic powder were also distributed.
Later, the owners of the ponies attended the training programme .
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Investigator and Head, Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, Dr Th Ranadhir Singh stated that the camp cum training programme was organised to spread awareness regarding diseases and preventive measures to protect the Manipuri Ponies .
The programme would also allow the owners to be aware of new and improved medicines and familiarize themselves with various health practices for Ponies .
As a part of the programme, Ex-Head, Department of Animal Sciences, M Dhaneswar Singh, Head, Department of Animal Sciences, Dr Th Ranadhir Singh, COA, CAU, Imphal and Dr Kamei attended the event as resource persons and deliberated on topics namely, “Housing and feeding management of Ponies”, “Diseases of Ponies and their control, prevention” and “Breeding of Ponies” .
