Imphal, November 06 2015 :
Manipur People's Party President N Sobhakiran on Friday called on the people to uproot the Congress from the State so as to bring a corruption free society.
During an interaction with media persons at MPP office, Sobhakiran pointed out that the fortune of the Congress as a national party has considerably dwindled as people have rejected the party.
Blaming the Congress for all ills in society, the MPP President reminded that only a few States of Northeast had opened the door for the party.
It may be mentioned that MPP had already extended support to the BJP for the coming bye-elections of Thongju and Thangmeiband Assembly Constituencies.
"Congress is an old party but looking at the present scenario, the party behaves as if it had no ideology at all.
People now need to get rid of the corrupt Congress party from the State" said Sobhakiran.
He called on the people to defeat the party in the coming bye-elections in Thongju and Thangmeiband assembly constituencies.
Sobhakiran further stated that people were already tired of the Congress antics and alleged that the party "constructs bills instead of dams", "cleans State ex-checker instead of Loktak Lake" and "draws chalan instead of rice." He also referred to the silence maintained by the Congress in Manipur when the Mizoram Chief Minister who was also from the same party allegedly condemned the passing of three Bills in the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last.
The media interaction was also attended by MPP senior Vice President O Jugindro and Vice President A Amutombi.
