Licypriya thanks President, PM for bringing new Ordinance to control air pollution

Imphal, November 05 2020:
Climate activist Licypriya Kangujam has thanked President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing an ordinance to monitor the air quality in Delhi and its neighbouring States.
A press release issued by Team Licypriya said that Ram Nath Kovind approved to set up a permanent commission to check the air quality in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The commission will be headquartered at Delhi.
Non-compliance with the orders and provisions of the commission will attract a jail term of up to five years or a fine of Rs 1 crore or both, it added.
It may be mentioned that Licypriya had been urging the Central Government to pass a climate change law in India.
