Tengnoupal, January 05 2019:
The bandh called by Asian Highway-1 Land Affected Owner along Imphal-Moreh road on January 6, for failing to disburse the land compensation amount has been lifted after the Chief Minister has given his assurance to provide the pending amount to the affected owners at the earliest, said Daniel Matte, one of the affected land owner, during a press meet held at Pallel today.
Former Deputy Commissioner of Tengnoupal has misappropriated a huge sum of Rs 1,93,38,776, meant for land compensation by diverting the said amout into an unknown account number instead of depositing it into the accounts of affected land owners of Tengnoupal and Chamol area which were affected due to the broadening work of Imphal-Moreh road as part of Asian Highway-1 project, he alleged and said that the bandh was lifted for some days in view of CM's assurance to pay the 2nd installment amount into the accounts of 19 affected land owners after thorough investigation of the case at the earliest.
