Photo exhibition showcases feats of government

Integrated communication & outreach programme with photo exhibition on "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" and "8 years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan" was at held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram.
The event was attended by Senapati ADM and ADC CEO HL Jain as the chief guest, Don Bosco College principal Fr KO Sebastian as the guest of honour and Central Bureau of Communication, Senapati Dr Waribam Urmila as functional president while School rector Fr Joseph Pampakal and vice principal Fr Xavier Mattam were special guests.
In his address, Fr Joseph Pampakal stated that introduction of Don Bosco at Maram has brought about a noticeable impact on all developmental parameters for people of the area and the school has contributed significantly in the education sector among Maram and other communities of Manipur and neighbouring states.
The rector appreciated the initiatives of the government in serving the poor and marginalised, ensuring farmers' welfare, improving healthcare system, national security and on the development of the northeast region, etc.
In her keynote address, Dr Waribam Urmila highlighted the functions of the Central Bureau of Communication, and explained that the photos exhibited showcased what the central government has achieved during the past 8 years.
The photo exhibition will conclude on October 5 .
According to principal Fr KO Sebastian the school's area is still reeling under water scarcity and stressed that it is the duty of the public to see if any developmental programme is implemented properly at a place.
Speaking as the chief guest, HL Jain commended the government for its concern for the marginalised and neglected section of the people.
He also lauded the Fathers of the school for implementing programmes that the government cannot do in the field of education.
Moreover, the chief guest regretted that society lacks spiritual development and human values which are essential for better inter personal relationship and promote service to humanity and civic sense.
Advising the students, the ADM/CEO stated that difficulties come not to destroy one's ability but to help one to realise the hidden potential.
Thang-Ta, stick dance, dhol cholom, Manipuri folk dance and magic show were performed in the later part of the programme.
