Prakash elected NESO secy

Former president of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Sinam Prakash has been elected as the general secretary of North East Students' Organisation (NESO) for the term 2012-15 during the 5th general conference of NESO held at Kohima from November 27 to 30 .
13 delegates of AMSU attended the general conference at Kohima which was hosted by Naga Students' Federation.
Addressing a press meet today at AMSU office, Sinam Prakash said NESO would focus more on common issues of the North Eastern States.
He said the apex NE students' body, NESO has been dealing with issues relating to formulation of education policy, AFSPA, illegal migrant issue, self employment for NE youths, fight against the alleged second class treatment to NE citizens by mainland people.
The press meet was also attended by AMSU president Thokchom Suresh and former NESO office bearer Jamesbond Mangang.
NESO is the apex students body of North East India constituted by Khasi Students' Union, Naga Students' Federation, All Manipur Students' Union, Mizo Zirlai Pawl and Tripura Students' Federation.
