Chief Minister N Biren Singh has strongly condemned the recent violent attack, racial abuse and ill treatment meted out to 12 youths from the State while they were travelling on train from New Delhi to Guwahati.
In this regard, the Chief Minister has apprised Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and requested him to take appropriate action regarding me unfortunate incident and also to issue necessary directives to all States, Railways authority and security forces to provide adequate security to prevent any assault or misbehaviour with North-East people.
The Chief Minister also apprised Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar to take up appropriate action on the matter.
The Chief Minister further instructed State Chief Secretary and DGP to contact their counterparts so as to ensure safety and security of the North-East people and Manipuris in particular outside the State.
The Chief Minister appealed to the public to inform the Government of any such incident in time so that the State Government could initiate timely action.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh is presently in New Delhi on an official visit.
