Job card holders to take legal action against MLA Thamarjit

Reacting against the non-payment of wages to job card holders of Keirao gram panchayat, Job Card Holders' Association of Keirao gram panchayat resolved to take up legal action against the MLA of its constituency Karam Thamarjit for stealthily taking an amount of Rs.25,00,000 which was to be given to 1115 job card holders.
The said amount was to be provided to job card holders for the earthwork and singling from Irilbung Thong to Thongranbi canal and another work done at Imphal Yairipok Maring Khunou.
This was stated by Kangabam Naoton Meitei, secretary of the association during a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club.
He said that the association had served a notification to concerned MLA to distribute the wages of all the job card holders before commencement of Ningol Chakkouba.
However, the MLA had remained silent instead of responding to the matter, he said.
Naoton continued that the association has decided to serve legal notice to the MLA on November 4 if he fails to distribute the payment.
The association will also launch social boycott of the well-wishers of the MLA, he added.
Ayekpam Chaoni Singh, president of Job Card Holders' Association and Ashem Ibohal Singh were present during the press meet.
