State reports one death, 158 new cases

Imphal, September 30 2021:
The state on Thursday reported one new death case along with 158 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2320 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 6.81 per cent against 7.52 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
Though the positivity rate is below 7 per cent, Pherzawl district recorded 23.5 per cent while Kamjong (9 per cent), Imphal West (8.7 per cent), Imphal East (8.2 per cent), Churachandpur (8 per cent), and Bishnupur (7.6 per cent) also recorded high positivity rate.
The active caseload rose to 2263 out of which 410 (18.12 per cent) are in home isolation, 852 (37.65 per cent) in CHICs, 618 (27.31 per cent) in CCCs and 383 (16.92 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 73 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 94 are on oxygen support and 24 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS though it has 164 patients.
On the other hand, there are 10 patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Thursday evening, 546 beds including 109 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Wednesday evening 2863 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 373 beds (28 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 91,184 positive cases and 1481 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 6651 new cases and 73 fatalities out of which 1349 new cases and 17 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 158 new positive cases included 156 people (80 male & 76 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were tested at RIMS (13), JNIMS (17) and other testing centres (128).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (34), Imphal West (72), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (12), Chandel (2), Scnapati (2), Tengnoupal (1), Pherzawl (4), Kamjong (7) and Kangpokpi (4) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The lone death case reported in the last 24 hours was a resident of Kamjong district and he was not vaccinated against Covid-19 .
With his death, the cumulative number of deaths in the state due to Covid-19 has reached 1855.In the last 24 hours, 101 patients were discharged from home isolation (40), INIMS (4), CCCs (51) and CHICs (6) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,20,584 (general population - 1,16,298 and CAPF personnel - 4,286).Number of recovered cases is 1,16,466 (general population - 1,12,316 and CAPF personnel - 4,250) and number of active cases is 2,263 (general population - 2,132 and CAPF personnel -31) .
The recovery rate is 96.58 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1033 D-type and 228 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Wednesday, 10,025 vaccine doses were administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,23,272 which include 4,76,723 fully vaccinated people.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (41,535), Imphal East (26,671), Thoubal (9323), Churachandpur (10,042), Kangpokpi (2755), Tamenglong (3259), Bishnupur (9006), Senapati (2200), Ukhrul (2743), Kakching (6349), Chandel (2285), Noney (1060), Tengnoupal (1039), Jiribam (1015), Kamjong (865), and Pherzawl (437) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (616), Imphal East (437), Thoubal (169), Churachandpur (158), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (187), Senapati (9), Ukhrul (33), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney ft), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,860 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,170 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,19,247 tests per million population against the national average of 4,07,310 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2320 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.81 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.27 per cent.
