May Day greetings

Imphal, April 30 2021:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of International Workers' Day popularly known as May Day which is observed on May 1 every year.
In his message, he said that the International Workers' Day popularly known as May Day is observed to honour the struggles and gains made by workers and labourers who came together and revolted against the unjust system.
Regarding labour welfare, he said, 'Owing to the hardship faced due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has also taken several measures for labour welfare and employment generation of migrant workers hailing from our State' .
The Chief Minister also appealed to all to pledge to uphold and strengthen the spirit of working class and acknowledge their contribution to the country's progress.
Extending warm wishes on the occasion, Speaker Y Khemchand said, 'This is the day to salute the hard work and dedication of strong willed souls around us.
With hard work comes great satisfaction' .
Works Minister Th Biswajit too has greeted the working people on the day and urged to resolve to defeat the pandemic.
The Central office of CPI, All Manipur Students Union (AMSU), Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI), All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur State Committee, Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK), All Manipur Manpower Upliftment Centre, Manipur Students' Association of Delhi (MSAD) also sent in their greetings on the occasion of International Workers Day.
