TPR below 7 pc; two deaths, 108 new cases reported

The daily positivity rate dropped to 6.46 per cent on Friday as the state reported 108 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 1673 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
On Thursday, the TPR was recorded at 9.26 per cent.
Friday also reported two death cases which took the fatality toll to 2077 .
They were residents of Imphal West and Thoubal districts.
One had received first dose of Covid vaccine and the other second dose.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 177 vaccinated people including 52 with second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 158 patients were discharged from home isolation (112), RIMS (8), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (30) .
The active caseload came down to 2345 out of which 629 (26.82 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 242 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 131 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, five did not report any fresh Covid cases on Friday.
So far, the state has recorded 9850 positive cases and 75 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2382 new positive cases and 31 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 1194 and 20 respectively.
According to official reports, the 108 fresh cases included 107 civilians (44 male & 63 female) and one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (9), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (90).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (18), Imphal West (50), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (7), Kangpokpi (3), Tamenglong (2), Ukhnul (2), Senapati (4), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1).The cumulative number of pos -itive cases has reached 1,35,638 (general population - 1,30,644 and CAPF personnel- 4,994) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,31,216 (general population - 1,26,332 and CAPF personnel - 4,884) and number of active cases is 2345 (general population - 2242 and CAPF personnel - 103) .
The recovery rate is 96.74 per cent.
A total of 287 D-type and 67 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 9006 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 14,77,857 out of which 10,89,092 had received second doses and 47,044 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,225), Imphal East (30,120), Thoubal (10,039), Churachandpur (10,981), Kangpokpi (3090), Tamenglong (3438), Bishnupur (9692), Senapati (2447), Ukhrul (3200), Kakching (6810), Chandel (2668), Noney (1142), Tengnoupal (1181), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (694), Imphal East (499), Thoubal (185), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (200), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,712 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,343 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,99,209 tests per million population against the national average of 5,33,496 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1673 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.46 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.76 per cent.
