Imphal, August 05 2014:
Disturbed by unfavorable environment prevailing in Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre at Takyelpat, five women athletes staying in the centre for undergoing training ran out this morning.
Informing this in a press meet at Manipur Press Club here today, mothers of the five women athletes said that some coaches at the centre forcibly took signatures from them and also scolded them without any valid reasons.
The worried mothers said that the unwarranted action of the coaches came weeks after five other women athletes slapped molestation charges against Coach Okram Chaoba.
Informing that the five women athletes who ran out from the centre at around 10 am today then approached the Ideals Club at Sagolband Tera, the aggrieved mothers urged the concerned authority to intervene into the matter and take necessary action against the coaches who are all close to Chaoba.
They said that such type of indecent behavior of the coaches will affect psychology of the women athletes who are all promising players and demanded termination of coach O Chaoba from his service.
