Special Secy (Planning) inspects development works in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, May 05 2011:
Some Contractors have submitted work completion reports to the government to get final bills before actually completing the works.
Many development works have been taken up in Tamenglong district under SPA and NLCPR but they are yet to be completed.
This was found out during the works inspection taken by Dr Sajjad Hassan, Special Secretary (Planning), Government of Manipur.
Dr Sajjad Hassan had inspected the construction of 33/11 KV S/S at Noney, augmentation of water supply, construction of a bailey bridge over Iyei river between Noney and Marangching village and construction of veterinary hospital at Lukhambi village.
He was given a warm welcome at Noney by SDO Nungba, Longmai Village Authority and Student Union.
He inspected the delayed construction of a bailey suspension bridge over Barak river between old Tamenglong and Namtiram village of Tousem sub-Division.
It is learnt that the work completion report has been submitted to the government.
PWD officials and the Chief Secretary are said to have signed the utilization certificate.
It is said that 85% of the work has been completed.
The construction work had been carried out by Jessie Kamei, Special contractor with a ' 36 lakh estimate.
The team also inspected the mini secretariat where they found the guest house construction work stopped.
The Special Secretary (Planning) went on to inspect the 50 bedded hospital.
Inspections will continue tomorrow and there will be a meeting with district level officers and leaders of social organizations.
