Education minister, CM, others greet teachers

Education minister S Rajen, chief minister N Biren, Speaker Y Khemchand and Kuki Students' Organisation, Churachandpur have extended warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Teachers' Day, which falls on Sunday.
In his message, minister Rajen said that being one of the most humble and challenging professions, September 5 is being celebrated as the Teachers' Day as a mark of respect to India's first vice president Dr S Radhakrishnan, who is considered as the architect and reformer of education of the country.
"As we know, the role played by the teacher community to shape and build the nation will be endless.
As such, it is my privilege to appeal to all the teachers to be ready for the new challenges in the education system of the country in the coming days," he said.
While hailing the teachers for their devotion and dedicated service towards nurturing and enlightening minds of the youngsters, CM Biren said that Teachers' Day is celebrated in honour of the teachers' role in shaping society as they inform, influence educate and enlighten the minds of the students.
"Teachers prepare us for lifelong experiences.
It is a noble profession shaping the character and future of a country," Biren said in his message.
Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Y Khemchand conveyed heartfelt "thank you to all teachers for your invaluable service".
Meanwhile, in a release, KSO Churachandpur general secretary Lienminlal Gangte stated that on this occasion, it is an excellent time to thank our teachers for enhancing meaningful teaching-learning activities for the students, regardless of the challenges due to Covid-19 .
On this day, let us remember them with love, gratitude and indebtedness, it added.
