Imphal, October 29 2014:
Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has urged the State Government to provide necessary equipments and infrastructures along with a provision to give incentives to medical doctors posted in the interior and far flung areas.
According to a press statement issued by General Secretary of ZYF David Kamei, the State Government's decision of a new policy for deputing adequate number of medical doctors including specialists to all hill districts is a welcoming policy.
Whether the State Government would fulfill the decision or not is to be observed in the days to come as it has miserably failed to materialize the transfer and posting order for medical doctors including specialist doctors in the past.
The State Govt is creating a situation where the people of the hill districts have to demand the Government even for deputing medical doctors in hospitals of hill districts, whereas medical doctors are flooded in the hospitals, primary health centres, primary health sub centres in addition to medical doctors serving at numerous privately owned health care centres and clinics for earning extra incomes in the valley areas, it said.
The statement also mentioned that the health condition of the people living in the hill districts is comparatively worse than the people of the valley districts.
Mere issuance of transfer and posting orders on papers will be futility if no efforts are made to make the medical doctors physically present in their respective place of posting so that needy people can avail proper medical care from the State authorities.
