Imphal, May 28 2018:
A team of youth from the State who recently completed a three month Assistant Electrician training course at Bhubon Technical & Skill Development (BTSD) Private Limited, Lamdeng Khunou, Lamshang (under the Centrally sponsored project Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana/PMKVY) was flagged off from the institute campus by BTSD Chairman Naorem Nabachandra Singh, to join Crown Electromechanical Private Limited, Bengaluru.
The team left for Bengaluru by flight from Imphal International Airport.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the programme, Nabachandra said that BTSD has been providing skill development training courses in various trades, including Assistant Electrician, Plumber General, Mason General and Tourism and Hospitality under PMKVY free of cost.
He claimed that the institute also provides free fooding and lodging to the trainees coming from far flung areas of the State in consideration of their inconveniences.
Informing that the institute opened the short term training courses under PMKVY, Nabachandra asserted that the main objective of the initiative is to provide a sustainable livelihood to the unemployed youth of the State by helping them to develop skills for certain trades.
He said that BTSD has been tying up with certain companies in India as well as abroad to provide job placement to the trainees after they complete their training and claimed that the first batch of trainees are already working in various companies.
Those who got job placement at Crown Electromechanical Private Limited will be further sent to companies in foreign countries, like Singapore and Japan after their skills improve while working in Indian companies.
Once they get to work in the foreign companies, their salaries will be much higher resulting in a massive boost to the economy, he added.
Maintaining that BTSD has been extending every possible help to the weak and poor sections of the society by taking up the skill development programmes under PMKVY and giving job placements, the Chairman urged the unemployed youths, particularly from poor families, to take the benefits of the initiatives provided by the institution.
